Building Excitement at Bryce Sports Center
From Concrete Walls to Tranquil Pools
Welcome to Bryce Sports Center! Eric Cash, Project Manager for Harman Construction, is here to give you an update on what's been happening since your last visit.
As you approach the entrance, you'll see the new concrete walls that are made to look like wood but are actually poured concrete with rebar for strength. The entrance structure is being built with steel and will soon have a wood roof and decorative signage.
Right now, there's a large area that's still just dirt, but it will soon be turned into a grassy space with cabanas and deck chairs where you can relax.
The pool deck is complete, with chairs in place and the lazy river ready for use. The walls and bottom of the pool have been carefully plastered by hand, making them perfectly smooth to walk on or touch.
Innovative Pavilion and Beyond
We also have a bridge with railing, which will allow easy access to the lounge area. You'll notice deck chairs submerged in the water, creating a cool spot to hang out. The patio area is finished as well, providing a very relaxing spot with beautiful views of the ski slopes and BMX bike course.
Phase B is still underway, which includes the pavilion, grill, and kitchen. For the pavilion, we're using a special product called CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber), which comes in big panels that will be stained to look like wood. The structural steel columns are being painted, and the building will have Nichiha siding and metal shingle siding, which looks like wood but is actually a plastic-type material.
Inside the kitchen, preparations are being made to serve food at the outdoor bars—one next to the pool and another under the pavilion. There will also be a dining room for those who prefer to eat indoors.
We're excited about the progress at Bryce Sports Center, and we can't wait for you to see the completed project!
