Harmonizing Hearthstone Manor

Revitalizing an Architectural Icon

Harman Construction is delighted to share some exciting updates on the recent renovations taking place at Hearthstone Manor Independent Living Facility within Bridgewater Retirement Community. The aim of this project was to transform the outdated appearance of the building, which was constructed 30 years ago, into a more aesthetically pleasing structure that harmonizes with the surrounding architecture. We're thrilled to announce that the renovation has been a tremendous success, thanks to the implementation of various key elements. Let's delve into the details!

Unveiling a New Facade

The renovation project involved a comprehensive re-facing of the exterior, with careful attention given to enhancing and replacing existing materials. Here are some of the notable changes that have taken place:

1. Insulated Exterior Stucco System: The old exterior stucco has been replaced with a new, insulated exterior stucco system. This upgrade not only improves the building's insulation but also adds an attractive "belt-coursing" design element.

2. Thin-Veneer Brick: The old thin-veneer brick has been substituted with new, high-quality thin-veneer brick, adding a touch of elegance to Hearthstone Manor.

3. Roof Gable Elements: New roof "gable" elements have been introduced strategically, complementing the surrounding architecture and lending a cohesive look to the entire structure.

4. Clock Tower Transformation: An existing, dated tower element has been repurposed into a captivating clock tower. It now boasts a new gabled roof and veneer stone accents, adding charm and character to Hearthstone Manor.

5. Roof Shingles Replacement: The roof shingles have been completely replaced, ensuring the building's durability and providing a fresh, updated appearance.

6. Raised Drive-Under Canopy: The drive-under canopy, previously quite low, has been raised to provide more convenience and functionality.

from Rescue Squad To Community Arts Center

In addition to the renovations at Hearthstone Manor, we are thrilled to introduce the newly transformed Arts and Crafts Community Center. Previously a pre-engineered Rescue Squad building, it has now been repurposed into a vibrant community center that caters to various needs. Here are the exciting changes that have taken place:

1. Perimeter Canopy and Classic-Style Columns: A new exterior canopy has been added around the building, supported by classic-style columns. This addition not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also provides a welcoming entrance.

2. Residential-Style Screen Roof: A sloping metal "screen" roof has been installed to give the building a more residential feel while effectively concealing mechanical units.

3. Upgraded Windows: The windows have been replaced, offering improved functionality and enhancing natural light within the community center.

4. Faux Stone with Hardie Board: The exterior walls now feature new faux stone combined with Hardie board, creating a visually pleasing and durable facade.

5. Donor Brick Paver Area: As a token of gratitude to those who contributed to the project, a special donor brick paver area has been created in front of the main entrance. Donors receive a commemorative brick paver, symbolizing their support for this wonderful endeavor.

Embracing a New Era

These renovations mark a significant milestone for Hearthstone Manor and the Bridgewater Retirement Community. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the individuals involved in bringing these transformative changes to life. The re-facing of Hearthstone Manor and the establishment of the Arts and Crafts Community Center will undoubtedly enhance the overall living experience for residents and foster a sense of belonging within our community.
