Building Bonds: Our Commitment to Special Olympics
Our commitment to making a difference isn’t confined to a job site or a warehouse. Sometimes, a cause resonates deeply with our employees, and we have the resources to extend our support. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting an event that showcased our ongoing dedication and the incredible spirit of our employees.
Fundraising for Special Athletes
Two years ago, David Hull of Harman Construction initiated a unique fundraising effort to support the Special Olympics. We contacted our superintendents and employees, asking them to contribute handmade items for an auction; the response was overwhelming. Items ranged from handcrafted knives created by David and JT to various other unique creations made by our talented team. In total, we auctioned off 33-34 items, each one reflecting the creativity and generosity of our Harman family.
Connecting With the Cause
Our involvement with the Special Olympics is not just a corporate initiative; it's a cause that is close to our hearts. Tammy and David shared their connection to the Special Olympics, which we now feel is essential to support annually. This personal connection fuels our collective dedication. When one of our employees feels like a cause like this one is worth supporting, then we can’t help but join in.
Growing Our Caring Capacity
At Harman, we are proud to support something so dear to our employees and are grateful for the opportunity to help these incredible athletes. The Special Olympics provides athletes like Christy with opportunities to compete and grow but also unite communities in support of a common cause. We look forward to many more years of partnership and all the great things the athletes we support can do!
