Our First Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Food Drive…It won’t be our last

Harman Construction is overjoyed with the turnout of our first company-wide food drive that was held during the month of April. Giving back to our community is an integral part of our culture at Harman Construction as we believe in giving back to the communities that support us. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank distributes food to hundreds of families throughout the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County communities.

While this was our first year sponsoring the food drive, “I think it may be something we do more in the future.” said John Bazan, the Operations Manager at Harman Construction. Holding this competition was a great way to give back to our community while also fostering teamwork and camaraderie amongst our little family. Our family-like environment makes it the perfect environment for a little healthy competition.

Team members joined together amongst themselves into teams to compete and see which group could bring in the most food items and decorate the best table. “The Contenders”, composed of David Hull, Jimmy Hull, J.T. Lam, Travis Layman, Vicente Lazaro, Michael Lopez and Jeremy Farmer won the competition. John reflected, “We heard a lot of comradery of ‘Oh, we’re going to beat you’, or ‘We’re going to have the best decorated table’.'' We are overjoyed at this outcome and can’t wait to participate again next year.
