50 Years & Counting

Harman construction is excited to be celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. Many of you joined us at our celebration event two weeks back. We want to thank each of you that has played a part in our success. Our company was founded in 1971 by Carl and Orden Harman and grew from a small, mostly rural builder at that time, to a larger full-scale general contractor. We continue to refine how we deliver smart efficient design build systems. In 2019, the employees bought the company from Carl Harman and continue to build our vision - To become the most trusted design build contractor in the Shenandoah Valley and neighboring communities.

In these crazy times we find ourselves in with escalated costs and long delivery times for products, we have found that design build is an even more valuable tool. The best way to make sure cost effective products that we can actually have delivered on time are incorporated into a project, is to have the builder design them into the project from the start. We are able to involve our subs and suppliers in that process. In a traditional, deign-bid-build world the architect is removed from this type of analysis and often low bid subs are reluctant to provide extra analyses regarding these products.

As we build on this type of design build process we look forward to the next 50 years of delivering high quality projects for our clients.
